Hello, readers! I have very exciting news! That darling fiance of mine has accepted a new position so, we're packing up and heading three states over! (Any Atlanta-area sewing enthusiasts with tips/store recommendations??) This, of course means my time has been otherwise occupied and will continue to be so for the next month (or two...).
I do have a few items that I haven't yet posted, a few thank yous to pass along, and a project or two that I'm going to [attempt to] work on during the transition. There's one backdrop in particular that I suspect is unique to this location and I want to make something for that before we leave. Finding the right fabric is proving difficult though... it looks like I'll be dyeing again!
So, things may be quiet around here for a time but, I do hope you'll understand and stick around :-) I'm going to do my best with keeping up with all that you are working on and share a few things of my own from time to time. (And lucky me, Brandon just bought me a new laptop to make doing so sooo much faster and easier!) I have big plans for this space, once we're all settled in!!
Now, to finish the inventory, the cleaning, consult the relocation specialist, get this house on the market, look for a new hou... ahaha... I may be completely mad by the time I return.
Any fun news in your world?
Happy sewing! x

To save energy and extend the life of our clothes, I hang most of our clothes on laundry racks to dry. I've just finished hanging a load...

Wait so you are moving to Atlanta? If so check out Whipstich. http://whipstitchfabrics.com/ I have taken a quilting class there before and everyone is so friendly.
ReplyDeleteThe Atlanta area, yes! Whipstitch's website looks promising - thanks for the recommendation! I'll certainly have to check them out.
DeleteHow exciting (if a little disruptive)... I hope everything goes to plan and you're not in transit too long.
ReplyDeleteI've wondered where in the States you live as it hasn't been obvious from the text and the photos. Having had a look now, I'd guess Arkansas? Louisianna?
I look forward to "seeing your new place". All I know about Atlanta is that REM come from there but even that is probably just a rumour...
Thanks, Marianna!
DeleteYou're right, I've never really mentioned where I am, have I? Well, we're originally from Virginia but, moved to Arkansas (good guess!) temporarily a few years ago.
I can't wait to explore our new area (he went, I haven't been) and I'm sure I'll be excitedly posing in front of a ton of new scenery to share with everyone :-)
Though familiar with REM, I hadn't heard where they were from. Wiki says Athens, GA. Close enough!
Congrats to the fiance - a new job can be a great change! Be prepared to have the whole moving process take longer than expected . . . we put our house on the market in early May, sold it in a month, moved out a month later and still aren't totally settled. Actually, we just found a house, but closing is three months out :)
ReplyDeleteI hope that everything goes well and you enjoy your new home (when you find it). I'm looknig forward to any projects that you will be posting.
Thank you!! I was just thinking of you actually, wondering how your sale/move was going. I'm glad to hear you found a house! :-) It's too bad the closing has been pushed out so far though. Timing is certainly a concern for us also. Since we're moving so far away (well, about 560 miles), we'd *like* to time the two closings so that our belongings don't have to go into storage. Keep your fingers crossed haha!
DeleteI hope everything goes smoothly for your closing and move into the new home!
Good luck, girl! I hope your move goes smoothly! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! :)
DeleteCongratulations on your fiancé’s new position! In moving out, it is good to consider having an inventory of every item that you will take with you. Also, it’s good to make several calls to different movers and at least have three estimates to choose from. And on the moving day itself, make a final walk-through of your house, from the basement, attic and closet, to make sure you have not overlooked some items.

Thanks! Luckily, the movers are taken care of but, I'm still working on that inventory.
